Auckland Gynaecology Services

I provide a wide range of gynaecological services — from contraception to complex pelvic surgery — with an emphasis on respectful, collaborative care and clear communication.

Below you’ll find more about the kinds of conditions I treat and the procedures I commonly perform.

Common Conditions I Treat

Gynaecological Cancers

There are five main types: ovarian, uterine (womb), cervical, vulval and vaginal cancers. Early diagnosis makes all the difference. I provide investigation, diagnosis and surgical treatment where appropriate, and work closely with hospital cancer teams to support ongoing management and follow-up. If you’ve had an abnormal smear or symptoms like unusual bleeding or vulval changes, don’t wait — come in and let’s talk. Colposcopy Ovarian cysts

Endometriosis and Fibroids

Pelvic pain, heavy periods, fatigue, bloating — endometriosis and fibroids can cause it all. I offer advanced laparoscopic surgery for both, including excision of deep disease, myomectomy, and ultrasound-guided planning. Whether you’re trying to conceive or just want to feel normal again, we’ll work out a personalised plan that fits your goals. Endometriosis Fibroids

Menstrual Disorders

Heavy, painful, irregular, or unpredictable periods can seriously impact your life. I investigate underlying causes like PCOS, polyps, endometrial hyperplasia, or hormonal imbalance, and offer everything from medication to IUDs to endometrial ablation or surgery if needed. Adenomyosis PCOS Abnormal bleeding Endometrial biopsy

Menopause and Perimenopause

Hot flushes, sleep trouble, brain fog, mood changes — menopause is natural but doesn’t have to be miserable. I offer hormone therapy (HRT) and non-hormonal options, tailored to your health history and preferences, with a focus on quality of life. Menopause Postmenopausal bleeding

Pelvic Pain

Chronic pelvic pain can have many causes — endometriosis, adhesions, cysts, nerve sensitivity, pelvic floor tension, or sometimes, no clear structural cause. I take a holistic approach to diagnosis and treatment, offering surgical options, pelvic floor Botox, physiotherapy referrals, and strategies that go beyond the obvious. Pelvic pain

Vulval Disorders

Itch, irritation, burning, pain, or skin changes in the vulval area are more common than you might think. I diagnose and treat conditions like lichen sclerosus, VIN (pre-cancerous changes), infections, and hormonal skin thinning. You’ll be listened to — and not rushed. Vulval conditions

Contraception and Reproductive Planning

Whether you’re 16 or 46, contraception should fit your life and your values. I offer advice and procedures for:

  • Mirena and Jaydess IUDs
  • Jadelle implants
  • Tubal ligation
  • Oral contraceptives
  • Permanent and non-hormonal options
  • Management of side effects or contraceptive complications

Early Pregnancy and Miscarriage

If you’re newly pregnant or experiencing a loss, you deserve gentle, clear, and timely care. I offer ultrasound confirmation of pregnancy, support with decision-making, and management of miscarriage — including ERPOC (surgical management) where needed. No pressure, just care. ERPOC

Risk-Reducing and Gender-Affirming Surgery

I provide laparoscopic surgery for people with increased genetic cancer risk (e.g. BRCA), and minimally invasive hysterectomy for gender-affirming care. These services are offered with full informed consent, respect, and coordination with broader care teams like Hauora Tāhine. Risk-reducing surgery Gender affirming surgery

FAQs

Do I need a referral to book an appointment?
While a referral from your GP is helpful as it provides valuable medical history, it is not always necessary. You can contact us directly to discuss your needs and book a consultation.
What should I expect during my first visit?
Your first appointment is a chance for us to talk through your concerns, medical history, and what you hope to achieve. Depending on your symptoms, a gentle examination or an ultrasound scan may be part of the visit, but everything will be explained clearly and done with your consent.
Are your services covered by private health insurance?
Many of our services, including consultations and surgical procedures, are covered by private health insurance. It's always a good idea to check with your provider about your specific policy coverage. We will work with your provider to make the most of your policy.
How much do consultations and procedures cost?
We provide a clear and transparent fee schedule for our services. You can find detailed information on our pricing page. For surgical procedures, a detailed cost estimate will be provided and discussed with you well in advance.
What is the waiting time for an appointment or surgery?
We strive to offer timely appointments. Waiting times can vary depending on the urgency of your condition. For surgery, we will discuss scheduling with you to find a time that works and ensure you are fully prepared.
